}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));
Good sound = more listeners. If you are serious about your music then you should be mixing and mastering your beats. You can find some really good plug-ins out there to help you do this. I try to always use a variety of plugins mainly from the Waves bundle. You should be tracking out your beats to a DAW such as Pro-Tools or Logic and mixing the tracks down with your vocals to get a better sound. You need to be mixing your music on studio quality monitors and in a sound treated room. You don’t want to put out a final mix of vocals on just a 2-tracks mixed on headphones. Set a standard of quality for your music and always move forward, not backward. Sometimes that’s all you have to work with, but if you can then you should try and get the beat tracked out and then mix the vocals in the same session that you mix your beat with. You might need a Pro-Tools HD rig if the track count is extremely high. If you mix your beats then more people will buy them, just like if you mix your music more people will listen to it. My friend made a mixing services website if you need someone to mix your music. He has mixed for some huge names in the industry. I built the website as well, so if you need someone to do a website then hit me up! I will be uploading some mixing tutorials soon to help you get started on mixing your own music. Hope this helps! – Peace

Here is a hip-hop guy I found on youtube who plays records and old samples, and I thought you might like his channel and get some ideas for sampling. What he does is go through all these old school samples that most of us know were used in big hits. It really shows you how samples were such a huge part of hip-hop history, and the golden age sound is truly one of a kind. I like hearing the original samples in their original form. My goal is to one day be able to record full bands/orchestras and then I want to be able to sample that recording and make beats from my own samples.

I still find samples all of the time and make new records, and plan on showing you all how I record and cut them and then use them in a new beat. Stay up, peace!

WordPress makes life easy.

Use WordPress as your content management system, this will save you weeks if not months on development time. You can install this application many ways, but by far it is easiest through your hosting company.

Go with a great hosting company.

Use Godaddy to get yourself a .com website name. They also have a deluxe hosting package as well that you will need to get to host WordPress. This is how I start to build all of my websites and the small investment is WELL WORTH IT.

Get a premium template.

Then what you can do is go and find yourself a premium theme to use with your WordPress install and be up and running in no time looking very professional. Best of all your site is now running of of one of the worlds most powerful content management systems and you can install plug-ins to expand/increase the functionality of your website.

Content is key.

Now you need to work on the CONTENT of the site, and fully optimizing it to be visible on search engines. This is called SEO. There are some resources out on the net you can find about this if you take a look around.

Do you need help?

If you need any help with setting up your website, I would be glad to work for you. Please contact me if you are in need of any Graphic design services, or SEO work. Because Building the website is the only the beginning to running a successful website.

I use Use Godaddy.com for all of my website needs, because I feel they are the best and have the best support around.

You got nothing to loose, and I like to help the next guy out as much as I can. I am not saying I know it all by all means, and don’t get upset if I give you the honest truth. If you send me something looking for honest feedback, i will give you constructive criticism. The best thing I can tell you to do is get as much constructive criticism as possible, and show your peers your music. Absorb technique from everybody, and then mold it into your original own. No 2 people are alike, so at the end of the day if you go 1 step further then the norm/standard, you will stick out. So listen to peoples advise when you get it, not just mine. Remain humble, and keep your ego at bay when asking people to listen to your music. Learn from what people say, and run with it. Keep listening to all kinds of music, and over all keep an open mind to your music evolving. I learn new things everyday and it’s because I keep an open mind to all feedback and criticism. There really are no rules to making music the “right” way. But there are a few techniques to make it sound better. Some people call these tip “industry secrets”, but I don’t keep knowledge from the people, I think it should be spread for the sake of good music. Hit me up. I’m looking forward to hearing your song.

 fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);
}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));
If your are like me you want to get the word out on your music. Here are a few ways you can do that.

Tip 1:

Put out Youtube videos all the time, with GOOD CONTENT. Do a series or something to keep new videos coming, and make descriptions that links back to your site. Create a blog as well and publish your music and efforts. Always bring something fresh to the table, and constantly evolve. One step further is to get your own website and do a full-on marketing plan for you business. Connect with your fans directly, and answer every comment.

Tip 2:

Pass out printed flyers to the local scene or current location you are in. Get out there and make it happen. If you sitting around thinking about how to get out there. Just stop what your doing and go make it happen. Literally “Get Out There”!

Tip 3:

Local recording studios have the people you need to be around to learn and network your way into studio sessions. Situations that arise by being in the right place and the right time are important in this business. They don’t happen often, but when they do, it is always in the studio. I can’t tell you how many times I have been at the right studio and the right time. It’s all about experience, so get in a studio and get some hands on experience. It is priceless. You never know who you will meet.

Tip 4:

Use Twitter correctly. It connects you to new people in your market if you use it right. Don’t just post dumb tweets. Use some cleverness, ask a question, interact with people. To get the most out of your efforts, use a search filter tool like HootSuite or TweetDeck. Monitor phrases and keywords in your nitch. For example, you could monitor the words “new music”, so when someone tweets “I want to listen to new music..” you will receive that tweet as an update and then you can reply to that person with a link to your music. They are looking for new music and you are providing it. It’s a win win and eliminates the spam aspect of internet marketing.

Tip 5:

Use email marketing to interact with your fans through a newsletter or some other type of update that they can follow. This usually goes right to their phone nowadays, and is the best way to retain fans.

We went to school together at Full Sail and have been working ever since. He is a very talented producer/engineer. Our new collaboration effort is music publishing, and placing beats on TV.

After much hard work and persistence, and the help of Panauh, I have placed a few beats on TV. One beat was on the show “10 on Top” on MTV, and the other placement was on a soap opera on Telemundo. These are my first real placements on major television networks, so I am very excited and motivated to make more good music!

I am looking forward to placing more music on TV for we have a huge catalog of music and it is growing every day. If you are a producer or artist and you are interested in getting your music into our catalog, please contact me and I’ll give you the details about how it works and how we try to place the records.
